On November 27^th 2011, the New York Rugby Club hosted the 52^nd Annual NY7’s Tournament. The tournament attracted many teams from across the country and even some from around the world. There were a multitude of divisions including a division for U19 Boys and U19 Girls. Both the U19 Boys divisin and U19 girls division had representation from the MetNY.

The two day event featured the top men's and women's 7s players flown in from around the country.  Opening ceremonies on Satuday kicked off with the national anthem sung phenomenally by professional opera singer and rugby player Stephen Gaertner.  Tickets sold out for the VIP area, which featured premium seating, catered food and unlimted imported beers and wines.  Hundreds of spectators enjoyed the beer garden and grilled food concession, open throughout the weekend, and product giveaways and merchandise sales from USA 7s.  The event was broadcast with live commentary, now archived through UStream. 

rugby Football Union, they will host The Emirates Airline USA Rugby All-Star 7s Tournament

on Randall's Island, NYC for the second year in a row. The pool of All-Star players will come

together for this tournament on August 28th and 29th 2010.

On Saturday July 24, 2010, Morris Rugby will attempt to break the world record for the largest ever youth flag rugby festival.  The Daily Record reported in detail on their plan to take the world record.  Here's a link to the article. 

The event takes places on no less than 23 different fields at the Black River Fields in Chester, NJ.  Good luck to Morris Rugby, the organizers and all the kids playing.
