On May 26, 2011, Met NY All Stars reconvened for the first time in over three years, and played a weeknight evening game under new floodlighting on Wards Meadow against a first class side from Wales.
The visiting side, Crawshay's, is a Welsh invitational club originally established in 1922 to play against the combined services team. Since then they have become a regular touring side traveling around the world. Crawshays' alumni include international players from Wales, Canada, England, Ireland, Malta, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Tonga and the United States. The Welsh side, powered by several professional players, overcame the Met NY All Stars, but the All Stars came into their own in the second half, scoring consistently, but ran out of time to overcome Crawshay's point advantage from the first half.
The MetNY RFU roster is included below. The side is comprised of players from Div. 1, Div. 2, Super League and Collegiate clubs from throughout the MetNY RFU. Congrats to all who were selected.
