MetNY U23 Women’s Team:

Tryout Dates:

March 21^st: 10am-1pm, Randall’s Island, Field 73

April 11^th: 930am-noon, Randall’s Island, Field 73

All-Star Tournament Date:

April 25^th: Only for those who make the MetNY U23 squad. All day Northeast All-Star Tournament at UMass Amherst. Players will be expected to be at the designated hotel no later than 9pm Saturday 4/24.

*equipment, jerseys, 4/24 accommodations will be provided for – all other costs and all transportation is the responsibility of the player.*

What the MetNY U23 coaches look for:

· Understanding of position in static and open play (offense, defense, support, etc.)

· Solid execution of the basics, above average skills/player (ball handling, tackling, rucking, mauling, etc.)

· Insight for the game (ability to read the field, phases of play, forward thinking in offense and defense)

· Strong communication (creates a presence on the field and garners respect from teammates)

· Team player

In addition to the above, the NRU U23 coaches specifically look for:

· Athleticism/fitness above average – VERY IMPORTANT

· Basics done consistently, well and at pace for 80 minutes
