Because of volunteers like you, St. Baldrick’s has raised over $20 million for childhood cancer research since it began on St. Patrick’s Day in 2000.   Over 26,000 heads have been shaved – including more than 2,000 women!   And all this adds up to more awareness of the disease that kills more kids than any other in North America – and most important, more funds for life-saving research.
  This year promises to be the biggest year ever, with your help!

Is it time for you to go bald for the cause again?   We’d love to have you back as a shavee, volunteer, donor, or event organizer in 2007! Visit our new website at www.stbaldricks.org and explore the new and exciting features – including the ability to participate in honor or memory of a special child.   Raising funds for childhood cancer research has never been so exciting!

If you’ve received cash and want to put the donor names on your St. Baldrick’s web page right away, now you can! Just log in to the members area of the website, click on “Shavee Information,” then on “Submit my Cash Donations.”
 Enter the names, contact information, and amount for each donor and then complete the transaction with your credit or debit card.   (The cash is your reimbursement.)   Your cash donors will appear immediately on your web page – Be sure to tell them to take a look!

St. Baldrick’s participants can now shave in honor or memory of a child with cancer.
  To choose a special child or teen to dedicate your St. Baldrick’s experience to, log in to the members area of the website and click on “shavee (or barber) information” in the gray tool bar on the right.   Then click “manage children with cancer associated with me,” and follow the instructions to add one or more children.

Here’s an idea:   Ask businesses and organizations you do business with to promote St. Baldrick’s – They usually will! For example, Quill, the office supplies vendor for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, mails a monthly newsletter to over 300,000 businesses.  We asked, and they dedicated their entire front page to promoting St. Baldrick’s!    Who can you contact to spread the word?

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is accepting funding applications from now until March 31 ^st for the year beginning July 1, 2007.   Fellowship and grant applications will soon be available on our website.  In the meantime, if your local institution would like to apply, please have them contact Becky Weaver for fellowship or grant applications at Becky@StBaldricks.org or call (626) 792-8247, Ext. 12.
