We're pleased to announce that the MetNY has secured hosting USAR's Coaching Certification courses in early 2012.  We will host both "Introducing Rugby" and the "Developing Rugby Skills" courses on February 25-26 in the Bronx, NY.  Details can be found here and any questions can be directed to Matt Persanis or Renee Ovrut.

Please note that because we are finally hosting a workshop, all MetNY teams will be required to have a certified coach on their roster by the 2012 fall league season. (this will hold true, regardless of structural changes impacting our area)

Members of the MetNY RFU have been working, for months, on creating an economic impact study on rugby in NYC.  This report, amongst other things, shows what rugby brings to NYC in terms of money, people and tourism.  The study is currently being used to approach city officials to bolster interest in the game, understand that the sport is growing and liaise with them to build more rugby fields in NYC.
