MetNY Collegiate All Stars Compete at NRU Cup

Scrum-6X3-White-WRIn early April, the MetNY Collegiate All Star team traveled to Albany NY to compete in the NRU Cup. The MetNY CAS team was comprised of collegiate student athletes in the MetNY area ranging from division 1 to division 3. The event allows players to showcase their skills in front of the NRU Collegiate All Star team selectors. The NRU team will be traveling out to Colorado this June. Several MetNY players made the squad last year and hopefully more will make it this year.

MetNY Gets Geared Up for D1 Collegiate Playoffs

Army10Artwork8X8W

With the creation of the CPL (College Premier League), USA Rugby designated several local unions as “automatic qualifier” regions. As MetNY was selected to be such a union, the winner of the Met NY’ division 1 will have an automatic bid to compete in the college rugby national championship tournament. In years past, the Met NY’s divisional winner had to go through the NY State Rugby union and the ever dangerous New England Rugby Union before making it into the college championship tournament. With such a great opportunity on the line, the Met NY D1 playoff race could not be more exciting.
